Serving more than 62 million passengers per year makes Singapore’s Changi one of the world’s busiest airports. It’s been rated the top airport in the world 6 times in a row by Skytrax who surveyed 13.73 million customers in 2017 and has been ranking more than 500 airports since 1999. What really sets Changi apart is a commitment to green spaces and placemaking and it’s philosophy of being an airport within a garden.
The airport houses more than 500,000 plants, 250 plant species and produces 3000 plants per month in its own nursery. These are cared for 20 horticulturalists and 150 gardeners. Outside the terminal Changi has a nursery spanning three hectares and 50,000 plants and flowers.
